Top 6 takeaways from therapy

The best decision I’ve ever made was saying, YES to therapy. I decided to take charge of my life and put myself first for once. There are so many takeaways from each session that I continue to use on a daily basis.

1 - IT’S OKAY TO SAY, NO 🙅🏾‍♀️

There are so many times when we feel obligated to say, YES and deep down we really want to say, NO. It’s important to do what’s best for you.


2- YOUR FEELINGS ARE VALID 🙋🏾‍♀️

There is so much emotional and physical trauma that comes with having a chronic illness. Don’t let anyone dismiss your feelings


3- DON’T BYPASS YOUR FEELINGS 👏🏾👏🏾

Be honest with your emotions and how you’re feeling. This may include opening up to a friend, family or partner.


4- IT’S OKAY TO CRY ✌🏾

Crying is not a form of weakness. Let those tears out and release what you have been holding on to.


5- GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO PAUSE 🧘🏾‍♀️

Be the best version of YOU!! unplug, recharge and focus on self-care. It’s not selfish.


6-CHANGE THE NARRATIVE 🙏🏾

Whether you are having negative thoughts in your head, comparing yourself to “society standards” change the narrative.

Redefine your own story and create space for your thoughts to uplift and support you.



PS..Therapy does not make you weak 🙌🏾

It’s my self-care journey that has given me every day tools.
