Top 6 takeaways from therapy

The best decision Iโ€™ve ever made was saying, YES to therapy. I decided to take charge of my life and put myself first for once. There are so many takeaways from each session that I continue to use on a daily basis.

My top 6 takeaways ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

1 - ITโ€™S OKAY TO SAY, NO ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ

There are so many times when we feel obligated to say, YES and deep down we really want to say, NO. Itโ€™s important to do whatโ€™s best for you.

2- YOUR FEELINGS ARE VALID ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ

There is so much emotional and physical trauma that comes with having a chronic illness. Donโ€™t let anyone dismiss your feelings

3- DONโ€™T BYPASS YOUR FEELINGS ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

Be honest with your emotions and how youโ€™re feeling. This may include opening up to a friend, family or partner.

4- ITโ€™S OKAY TO CRY โœŒ๐Ÿพ

Crying is not a form of weakness. Let those tears out and release what you have been holding on to.

5- GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO PAUSE ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ

Be the best version of YOU!! unplug, recharge and focus on self-care. Itโ€™s not selfish.

6-CHANGE THE NARRATIVE ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

Whether you are having negative thoughts in your head, comparing yourself to โ€œsociety standardsโ€ change the narrative.

Redefine your own story and create space for your thoughts to uplift and support you.

PS..Therapy does not make you weak ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

Itโ€™s my self-care journey that has given me every day tools.
